Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shane Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kixo Caludo! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caludo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Carwin fails in his attempt to clinch. Carwin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Carwin looks to land a body kick but Caludo moved away. Caludo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Caludo wants to work for an arm triangle but Carwin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Caludo is looking for a kimura but Carwin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Caludo to get the leverage. Carwin wants to get back to full guard. Carwin wants to get back to his feet.

Caludo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carwin sees it coming and defends easily. Caludo looks gassed! Caludo scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caludo stops Carwin from getting back to his feet.
Carwin manages to get to full guard.
Carwin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Caludo is aware though and is defending well. Carwin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Carwin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carwin keeping moving, preventing Caludo from controlling successfully. Caludo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carwin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carwin has escaped and now he's on top! Caludo is looking for a triangle but Carwin pushes his legs off easily.

Caludo keeping moving, preventing Carwin from controlling successfully. Carwin scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Carwin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Caludo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carwin works a leg free and moves into half guard. Carwin stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Caludo dodges the punch combination from Carwin.
Carwin tries to clinch but Caludo is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carwin misses with a takedown and Caludo counters with a takedown into side control. Carwin struggling a bit here. Carwin prevents Caludo from moving into mount. Caludo stands up and beckons Carwin to his feet. Carwin misses with a double jab.
Carwin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Carwin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Caludo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carwin defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carwin trying to control the position from guard on top but Caludo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carwin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Caludo can do anything to dispel that myth. Caludo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carwin defends well. Caludo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Caludo wants to sweep here but Carwin controlling him for the moment. Caludo has his foot on Carwin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carwin works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shane Carwin will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Carwin. Caludo manages to get back to half guard. Caludo tries to roll over but Carwin keeps him under control. Carwin wants to take a breather but Caludo is having none of it. Carwin wants to stand up but Caludo is controlling the position.
Carwin throws a strike but Caludo avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Caludo looking for a guillotine here but Carwin defends easily.
Carwin is looking to stand up but Caludo won't let him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caludo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carwin wants to control from the top but Caludo keeps moving. Carwin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Caludo is defended easily by Carwin. Caludo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Carwin misses with a takedown and Caludo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Caludo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Caludo stands and throws Carwin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Caludo looks up at the clock and then as Carwin takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Caludo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carwin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carwin is working hard here to advance position. Carwin is trying to control Caludo's posture but Caludo avoids it. Caludo trying to control the position but Carwin is working away. Carwin wants to control but Caludo postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caludo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carwin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Caludo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carwin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Caludo's guard! Nice work there by Carwin! Carwin stands up over Caludo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Carwin wants to control from the top but Caludo keeps moving. Carwin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Caludo, up you get! Caludo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carwin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Caludo defends well. Caludo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Caludo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caludo drops back looking for a leg! Carwin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carwin manages to kick Caludo off! Caludo jumps back into Carwin's guard. Caludo pushing down on Carwin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Caludo maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Carwin could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Caludo has cracked it and Carwin is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Caludo!
