Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Makin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Shcenk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makin comes to the cage accompanied by Shinedown - Simple Man. Shcenk comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bad Company kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Erik Makin had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Erik Makin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Shcenk! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makin shoots for a takedown but Shcenk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Makin tries to bum rush Shcenk with a series of wild strikes but Shcenk uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A looping hook to the body misses from Shcenk. Makin does a little dance to reset his feet. Shcenk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Makin moves into range and clinches up with Shcenk. Makin lands a body punch in the clinch. Shcenk has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Shcenk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shcenk punishes Makin's body with a nice straight punch. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Shcenk throws a combination that misses and Makin counters by clinching up. Makin successfully pulls guard.
Makin looking for a guillotine here but Shcenk defends easily.
Makin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shcenk is looking to stand up but Makin won't let him. Shcenk wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Makin's closed guard. He's half up but Makin has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Makin pivots and extends the arm, Shcenk falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Makin! Well done that man!
