The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKenzie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. McKenzie dodges the punch combination from Blackmore.
McKenzie shoots for a takedown but Blackmore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Blackmore lands a jab to the nose. Blackmore listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. McKenzie shoots in for a takedown but Blackmore shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Blackmore leaves McKenzie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bones McKenzie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blackmoreis looking to pass into half guard but McKenzie pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now McKenzie is in guard. McKenzie postures up in Blackmore's guard and throws a big left but Blackmore blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blackmore looking for a guillotine here but McKenzie defends easily.

Blackmore is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but McKenzie frees his head nicely. Oh but Blackmore has switched to an armbar! McKenzie is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
