Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Heatley! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heatley lands with a nice combination. Diaz backs away looking to recover. Decent striking displayed by Heatley there. Diaz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Heatley pinned against the cage. Heatley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Heatley's waist but Heatley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. Heatley moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Left hook, right uppercut from Heatley. Daniel Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Heatley's waist but Heatley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Heatley throws a combination. Diaz tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Diaz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Diaz fails with the takedown. Diaz walks into a straight right hand from Heatley. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Heatley connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Heatley connects with a good right hand that stumbles Diaz. Diaz circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Heatley drops Diaz with a beautiful combination! Diaz stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Heatley is looking for the KO!
Diaz is rocked! Heatley throws an overhand right that has Diaz reeling! Heatley follows up with more punches and Diaz is out cold! This one is all over!
