Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jake Wright has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jake Wright seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wright stuffs the takedown attempt from Castro. Castro gets slowly back to his feet. Castro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Castro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jake Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Castro. Castro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wright swings for the body but Castro moves out of range.
Wright decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Castro is not content to let Wright control the position. Wright slips a nice elbow through Castro's hands, connecting with Castro's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wright lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wright missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ground and pound from Wright. Wright is trying to control. Castro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Castro has hold of Wright's hands but Wright slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wright is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Castro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wright thows a huge punch but Castro dodges it nicely.
Castro wants to get back to full guard. Castro wants to control but Wright is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wright lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Wright is thwarting Castro's attempts to control the position. Wright missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Wright. Wright tries to pass the half guard into mount. Castro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wright connects with a nice short shot to Castro's temple. Wright thows a huge punch but Castro dodges it nicely.
Wright working over Castro with some ground and pound. Castro looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Wright scoring with strikes to the body and head. Castro is looking to control Wright's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Castro avoid being mounted? We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Castro can do anything to dispel that myth. Castro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Wright drops an elbow to the side of Castro's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wright lands with a punch from half guard. Nice strikes from Wright there. Wright winds up and cracks Castro with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Castro on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wright is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Castro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wright. Wright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Castro's head. Wright working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Wright with the ground and pound but Castro uses the opportunity to regain guard. Wright distracts Castro with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Wright postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Castro trying to keep a closed guard but Wright is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wright stays in close to Castro's body and controls the position. Wright chips away with some ground and pound. Wright trying to control but Castro is working from the bottom. Wright postures up and lands a big shot to Castro's brow. Wright postures up and lands a big shot to Castro's brow. Castro controls Wright momentarily but Wright frees himself. Wright slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Castro. Wright is trying to control. Castro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Wright dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wright shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wright showed some decent athleticism there. Castro tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wright has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Wright lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Castro in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Wright lands with some strikes. Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wright cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Castro is rocked! Wright with shots to the head and body - Castro looks very uncomfortable down there. Castro is still in real trouble! Can Wright finish him? A nice elbow there by Wright.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oooooh, big shot lands for Wright! Castro is hurt baaadly! Wright is firing away with more strikes - Castro is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
