PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ville Vallaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kijiro Kazasuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vallaton rushes Kazasuki and presses him up against the cage.
Kazasuki has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vallaton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kazasuki tries to score a body lock takedown but Vallaton shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Vallaton manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Vallaton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Vallaton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Vallaton tries to stand and escape but Kazasuki is controlling the position.

Kazasuki manages to work his way to half guard, despite Vallaton's best efforts.

Vallaton is looking for a kimura but Kazasuki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vallaton to get the leverage.
Well, if Vallaton is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vallaton listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Vallaton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kazasuki circles away.

Vallaton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vallaton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Vallaton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Vallaton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Vallaton decides to return to a standing position.

Vallaton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kazasuki wants to control but Vallaton postures up.
Kazasuki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vallaton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kazasuki manages to get back to half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Kazasuki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Vallaton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kazasuki on the ground.
Kazasuki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vallaton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kazasuki is proving hard to escape from.

Kazasuki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vallaton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vallaton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
