Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Emelianenko's choice of entrance music: Pride Fc Theme Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Hughes! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hughes connects with a right hand. Emelianenko shakes it off. Hughes fails to land with a series of punches.
Emelianenko fails with a takedown attempt. Hughes lands with a good body shot. A left lands for Hughes. A telegraphed right hand from Hughes misses the target. Emelianenko on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hughes swings for the body but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Emelianenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hughes circles away. Emelianenko takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelianenko waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hughes. Emelianenko misses the jab. Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hughes's waist but Hughes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side. Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko. Emelianenko thows a body shot but no joy. Mark Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Emelianenko looks gassed! Hughes digs a good hook to Emelianenko's body.
Donk. Hughes catches Emelianenko right on the button with a cross. Hughes tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Emelianenko is able to avoid easily. Hughes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hughes.
Hughes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hughes motions for Emelianenko to come forward. Hughes throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Hughes misses with a double jab.
Hughes scores with a jab to the body. Emelianenko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Some bone on bone action there as Emelianenko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hughes digs a good hook to Emelianenko's body.

Emelianenko is rocked! Hughes fakes the body blow, causing Emelianenko to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Emelianenko goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
