Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Calvin Carver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Santos! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Santos tries to clinch there but Carver circles away.
Santos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Carver to score an easy takedown into full guard. Carver lands a couple of elbows. Carver trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom. Carver missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Carver working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Carver throwing strikes from guard but Santos blocks nicely. Carver is looking to work some ground and pound but Santos has wrist control. Carver trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Santos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Carver takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Carver misses with a wild combination.
Carver slips under a jab. Carver shoots for a double leg takedown but Santos sprawls well. He's pushed Carver's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Carver swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Carver closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carver lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Carver cracks Santos with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Carver is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer. Santos is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Carver scores with a couple of nice shots. Carver thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Santos's head. Carver wants to control but Santos is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carver missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carver throws a strike but Santos avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Carver with a flurry of punches that miss. Carver tries to stand but Santos is controlling from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Santos loads up on a big right hand but Carver slips the punch. Santos slips a jab and a cross from Carver.

Carver throws a combination that misses and Santos counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Santos pushes Carver up against the ropes in a clinch. Santos using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Carver has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Carver creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Santos is pushing Carver up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Carver is working for takedown but Santos is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin Carver. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Santos lands a jab-cross combination. Carver tries for a takedown but Santos circles away easily and Santos counters with a three punch combo that has Carver backing up. Carver nods at Santos to acknowledge the strikes. Santos is looking to clinch. A punch combination from Santos misses. Santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carver. Carver comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Carver throws a combination that misses and Santos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Santos defending well as Carver loads up on a big left hand. Santos throws a right hand that Carver ducks under and follows up with a left that Carver also avoids with ease. Santos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carver's guard. Carver looking for a sweep. Not yet Carver, not yet. Carver not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Carver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carver tries to improve position but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carver clobbers Santos with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Carver throws a lazy head kick and Santos counters with a one-two to the body. Carver takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Santos takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Carver wants to clinch. Carver pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Santos misses with a few strikes there.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Carver shoots in and drives through. Santos sprawls well. Santos fails to land with a series of punches.

Santos parries the strikes from Carver easily there. Carver is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Santos to escape.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Steve Santos. I think Santos has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
