Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, James Doan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas swinging wildly here.
Lucas stuffs the takedown.
Doan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lucas swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lucas misses with a two punch combination.
Doan moves forwards but Lucas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Doan is looking to clinch but Lucas is avoiding it.
Doan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lucas pinned against the cage. Lucas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lucas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Doan's head.
Lucas throws a good cross that connects.
Lucas circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lucas tests Doan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Doan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lucas but Lucas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Doan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Doan loses concentration momentarily and Lucas pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Doan crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Lucas finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
