Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleksey Ubivec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chamakh is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Linda Sundblad - To All My Girls. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksey Ubivec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karim Chamakh!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chamakh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chamakh shoots in looking for a takedown. Ubivec tries to sprawl out of it but Chamakh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ubivec manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chamakh decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ubivec tries to improve his position but instead Chamakh has taken his back!

I really don't envy Ubivec right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ubivec is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Chamakh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karim Chamakh dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Chamakh.
Ubivec stuffs the takedown.
Chamakh shoots in but no luck this time.
Aleksey Ubivec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karim Chamakh.

Aleksey Ubivec is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chamakh shoots in but Ubivec avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Chamakh counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ubivec won't be happy with that.

Chamakh is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ubivec's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ubivec is trying to improve his position.
Ubivec looks to move to half guard but instead Chamakh has passed into mount! Damn!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chamakh tries to control but Ubivec wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ubivec regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chamakh prevents Ubivec from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Karim Chamakh will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Ubivec's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Ubivec will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ubivec swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ubivec misses with a hook. Chamakh ducked under it nicely.
Ubivec tries to clinch up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chamakh has his takedown stuffed
and Ubivec counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Chamakh gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ubivec counters with a two punch combo.
Ubivec's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Ubivec duly obliges.

Chamakh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Chamakh is stalling here. Ubivec is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chamakh seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ubivec has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Karim Chamakh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

You can see the frustration on Chamakh's face as Ubivec controls the position.
Chamakh is not content to let Ubivec control the position.

Chamakh struggling a bit here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ubivec wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chamakh keeps working.

Chamakh is trying to control Ubivec's posture but Ubivec avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aleksey Ubivec showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Chamakh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
