Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keith Higham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Sigic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Keith Higham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, James Sigic!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sigic defending well as Higham loads up on a big left hand.
Higham lands a really nice looking cross but Sigic seems unphased.
Sigic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sigic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Higham's waist but Higham gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sigic off to one side.
Higham fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sigic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Keith Higham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Sigic.
The fight stays on the outside here - Higham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Higham does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Higham uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sigic.
No joy there for Higham, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Higham tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sigic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sigic avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Higham throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sigic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Higham scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sigic doesn't seem bothered though.

Higham stuns Sigic with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Sigic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Higham avoids it really well and circles away.

Higham drops back looking for a leg! Sigic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sigic manages to kick Higham off! Higham jumps back into Sigic's guard.

Higham has gone for a leg lock! Sigic slips out almost immediately though and dives into Higham's guard.

Sigic advances to mount.
Sigic throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Higham wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Sigic.

Sigic looking to secure an arm triangle but Higham defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Higham misses with a series of wild punches.
Higham connects with a body shot.
Sigic misses with a takedown
and Higham counters with a left to the body.

Higham shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sigic's guard.

Higham postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sigic is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Higham, into his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Higham is on top in guard.

Sigic is trying to hold Higham in close to prevent damage but Higham has managed to pass into half guard.
Sigic is looking to improve his position.

Higham is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sigic sees it coming and defends easily.

Sigic moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Higham won't allow Sigic to sweep him here.
Higham wants to pass the guard but Sigic is keeping the position.

Higham drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sigic looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sigic looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sigic!
Higham takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Sigic fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sigic tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Sigic tries to advance to mount but Higham instead regains half guard.
Sigic not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Higham gets full guard.
Sigic is pushing down on Higham's leg trying to pass to half guard. Higham is fighting to maintain full guard but Sigic has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sigic wants to advance to full mount but Higham doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Sigic is breathing heavily.

Sigic working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sigic distracts Higham with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Higham had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sigic defends it easily.
Sigic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Higham is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Higham swings for the body but Sigic moves out of range.
Higham stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Higham wants it to stay on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Higham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sigic checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Sigic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sigic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Higham, who protects the arm well.

Higham is trying to get back to half guard.
Higham throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Higham stops Sigic from passing to mount.
Sigic looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Higham is avoiding damage well.
Higham defending against the ground and pound.

Sigic thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Higham manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Higham moves nicely into side control.
Sigic is looking to reverse the position.

Higham is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Sigic is trying to escape and Higham transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Sigic is forced to tap! Nice work there by Higham! Very nice indeed!
