Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pete Norfolk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Zhirkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhirkov looks for a takedown but Norfolk sprawls well.
Zhirkov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Norfolk pinned against the cage. Norfolk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No joy there for Zhirkov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Norfolk tries to clinch up but Zhirkov circles away and keeps his distance.

Zhirkov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Norfolk but Norfolk pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Norfolk isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zhirkov stacks Norfolk on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zhirkov!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zhirkov is landing with some decent strikes but Norfolk is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Norfolk tries to lock up and control but Zhirkov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Zhirkov jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Norfolk manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Yuri Zhirkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zhirkov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Norfolk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Norfolk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Norfolk!
The referee asks Norfolk politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Norfolk prefers to stall for the moment though.

Norfolk looks up at the clock and then as Zhirkov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Norfolk smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Norfolk takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

I would just about give that final round to Yuri Zhirkov.
I've got Zhirkov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
