Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaylee Frye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Russo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kaylee Frye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Russo! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A right-left combo lands from Russo. Frye walks into a jab. Frye fails with a takedown attempt. Russo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Frye manages to avoid it. Frye gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Russo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Frye. Russo keeps control of the position for the meantime. Frye wants to work for an arm triangle but Russo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Russo is looking to improve his position.
Frye looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Frye looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Frye is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Russo pushes Frye off looking to stand but Frye dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Frye throws a big shot that misses. Russo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Frye.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Russo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frye.
Frye closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Russo did well to prevent Frye getting side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russo is looking for a sweep. Frye is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Frye is looking to advance position but Russo won't allow it. Frye thows a huge punch but Russo dodges it nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Russo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Frye looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo misses the jab. Frye moves away from the strike by Russo. Kaylee Frye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frye closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Russo can't break the clinch.
Russo working hard to break the clinch. Russo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Frye has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Russo uses from the top position. Russo wants to pass the guard but Frye is keeping the position. Frye has his foot on Russo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Russo works his way back into a safe position though. Frye has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Frye working for a triangle but Russo defends it easily.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Russo wanted to stand there but Frye had control of the position. Russo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Frye is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Russo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Russo's back! Frye is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Russo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Frye is trying to stick to Russo's back but Russo is turning into Frye. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Frye's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Russo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kaylee Frye dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Russo stuffs the takedown. Frye shoots in looking for a takedown. Russo tries to sprawl out of it but Frye keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Russo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Frye closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Frye lands in his opponent's guard. Russo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Russo misses the shot to the body. Russo leaves Frye with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaylee Frye. That's going to take a lot out of him. Frye has managed to clinch.
Russo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Russo wants to get back to striking at distance but Frye won't allow it.

He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Frye is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Russo won't allow Frye to sweep him here. Russo trying to control the position from guard on top but Frye is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Russo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Frye is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Russo is aware though and is defending well. Russo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Russo won't allow Frye to sweep him here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Russo is posturing up here but Frye has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Russo tries to roll out but it's too tight and Russo has to tap! Slick submission there by Frye!
