Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maximus Mercuriy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrey Fokin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fokin clobbers Mercuriy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Maximus Mercuriy has been cut. Fokin closes the distance and clinches up with Mercuriy, looking for a takedown. Fokin pushes Mercuriy against the cage but Mercuriy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mercuriy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fokin did well to prevent Mercuriy getting side control. Mercuriy really is a fat lump. Fokin trying to control here.
Mercuriy is looking for a kimura here.
Mercuriy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fokin is just riding it out for now. Mercuriy eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mercuriy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mercuriy wants to pass to mount but Fokin is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fokin wants to improve his position but Mercuriy is controlling well.
Fokin wants to control but Mercuriy is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mercuriy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Fokin is looking to improve his position.
Mercuriy is thwarting Fokin's attempts to control the position. Mercuriy prevents Fokin from improving his position. Mercuriy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fokin has managed to free his arm - good work. Fokin wants to control but Mercuriy is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mercuriy seems to be working for a kimura but Fokin defends the submission attempt. Mercuriy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fokin defend it? Mercuriy steps over the head and cranks it - Fokin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mercuriy!
