Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Whos Now (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Pingshaw jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pingshaw jr has chosen Heart of a Champion as his entrance music. Whos Now has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Whos Now!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ian Pingshaw jr!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Now looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pingshaw jr!
You get the feeling that Pingshaw jr really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Now throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Poor strikes thrown by Now there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Now landing strikes from the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pingshaw jr is trying desperately to improve position.
Now working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Pingshaw jr slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Now performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Now stands up out of the half guard.

Pingshaw jr throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Now.

Now darts in and clinches Pingshaw jr up against the cage.

Now gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pingshaw jr regains guard.
Now works over Pingshaw jr with some ground and pound from guard.
Now in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Now postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Now wants to stand but Pingshaw jr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Now wants to pass the guard but Pingshaw jr is keeping the position.

Now stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Now sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Now is breathing heavily.

Pingshaw jr has his takedown stuffed

and Now counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pingshaw jr avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Now.
Now with the ground and pound but Pingshaw jr uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Now trying to control the position from guard on top but Pingshaw jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Now stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Now takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Now takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Now circles away from the clinch attempt.
Now misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pingshaw jr throws a nice head kick!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pingshaw jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Now counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pingshaw jr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Now is standing up over Pingshaw jr. Pingshaw jr looks to escape but Now dives into side control.
Now looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Pingshaw jr is avoiding damage well.
Now looks up at the clock and then as Pingshaw jr takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Now smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Now fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pingshaw jr regains half guard, as Now was trying to land strikes.
Now is keen to just control but Pingshaw jr is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Now stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Now pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Pingshaw jr throws a nice head kick!
Now misses with a wild combination.
Pingshaw jr with a lazy takedown attempt
and Now counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Whos Now has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Pingshaw jr.
Now lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pingshaw jr backs up against the cage.
Pingshaw jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pingshaw jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Now keeps the fight on the outside.
Now tries to clinch but Pingshaw jr is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Whos Now dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Now throws a head kick that misses.
Pingshaw jr connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Now momentarily.
Pingshaw jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pingshaw jr wants it to stay on the feet.

and Now counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Now.
Now is looking to stand up but Pingshaw jr won't let him.
Now wants to control from the top but Pingshaw jr keeps moving.
Now landing some decent shots from guard.
Whos Now overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Now thows a big elbow that misses.

Now drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pingshaw jr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pingshaw jr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pingshaw jr!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Now wants to get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Now's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Now is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Pingshaw jr advances nicely into full mount.
A nice elbow there by Pingshaw jr.
Now keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Now manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pingshaw jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Now's head.
Now really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Now is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pingshaw jr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pingshaw jr's back!
Now is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Now postures up in Pingshaw jr's guard and throws a big left but Pingshaw jr blocks it.
Now has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Now stands and steps away. Pingshaw jr gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Now counters with a single leg into guard. Pingshaw jr didn't expect that.
Now trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Now is working Pingshaw jr over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Now gets to his feet. Pingshaw jr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Pingshaw jr misses with a double jab.
Pingshaw jr scores with the left hand. Now knows he should have avoided that one.
Now moves in looking to clinch but Pingshaw jr pushes him off.
Pingshaw jr lands a front kick.
Pingshaw jr doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Now moves into the clinch.

Now turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Pingshaw jr is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Now tries to score with some ground and pound. Pingshaw jr controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Now is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pingshaw jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Pingshaw jr is working to avoid the ground and pound but Now connects with a decent elbow.

Now working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Now has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Now counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pingshaw jr!

Now thowing shots but they're missing.
Now can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pingshaw jr is looking to escape.
Now takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Now breaks from Pingshaw jr's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Pingshaw jr is in a horrible position here. Now smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Now swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pingshaw jr is now in Now's guard. A big mistake from Now there, giving up the dominant position!

Now wants to sweep here but Pingshaw jr controlling him for the moment.
Pingshaw jr with a flurry of punches that miss.

Now pushes Pingshaw jr off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Now moves into the clinch successfully.
Now tries to break the clinch but Pingshaw jr is controlling the position.
Pingshaw jr unloads a knee to the mid-section. Now lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Pingshaw jr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Now.
Whos Now is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Now is looking to break free of the clinch but Pingshaw jr has double underhooks.

Pingshaw jr jumps guard.
Now stands up over Pingshaw jr, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Pingshaw jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Now throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Now stands up from Pingshaw jr's guard - Now perhaps looking for a knockout.
Now takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ian Pingshaw jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ian Pingshaw jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pingshaw jr lands a nice looking kick to the body. Now takes a step back to recover.

And that's the end of the fight!
Whos Now showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Now, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
