Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Martello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Thunder could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Max Martello's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martello shoots for a takedown but Thunder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thunder shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martello manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thunder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martello is just riding it out for now. Thunder eventually gives up the hold.

Thunder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martello keeps working.

Thunder is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Martello defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thunder wants to work for an arm triangle but Martello is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Thunder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Martello might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Thunder kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
