PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moni Cvetkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cvetkov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Teletubbies. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cvetkov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cvetkov showed some decent athleticism there.

Ross is staying active underneath Cvetkov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ross is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cvetkov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cvetkov's back!

Ross is looking for a rear naked choke here but Cvetkov reverses the position brilliantly into Ross's guard!

Despite being in the dominant position, Moni Cvetkov just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cvetkov throws a hook but Ross avoids it easily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moni Cvetkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cvetkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ross swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cvetkov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ross has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cvetkov has managed to get both his arms back between Ross's legs - danger averted.
Cvetkov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ryan Ross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ross working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cvetkov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cvetkov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Cvetkov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
