Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnathon Gibbons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Davis throws out a loose jab but Gibbons uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gibbons takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Davis moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Nice defenses there by Gibbons.
Gibbons closes the distance and clinches up with Davis, looking for a takedown. Gibbons pushes Davis against the cage but Davis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Davis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gibbons stands and throws Davis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis is looking to reverse the position.
Davis can't do much from the bottom here.
Gibbons tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Davis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Gibbons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Davis throws a shot from downtown. Gibbons moves away and avoids it.
Davis shoots in but no luck this time.
Gibbons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Davis pushes Gibbons off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Gibbons shoots in looking for a takedown. Davis tries to sprawl out of it but Gibbons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gibbons shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chris Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnathon Gibbons.
Davis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Davis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Davis scores with a jab. Gibbons acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Davis.
Johnathon Gibbons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Horrible takedown by Gibbons or perhaps it was just good defense by Davis which made him look bad.

Davis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gibbons stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gibbons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gibbons off to one side.

Davis connects with a jab.
Gibbons looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chris Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gibbons shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Davis doesn't manage to clinch there - Gibbons circles away.
Gibbons moves forwards but Davis connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Johnathon Gibbons has been cut.

Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Gibbons swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Davis lands a slapping body shot.
Davis scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gibbons doesn't seem bothered though.

Gibbons takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Davis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Davis.

Gibbons moves forwards but Davis connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Davis tries to bum rush Gibbons with a series of wild strikes but Gibbons uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gibbons has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gibbons is defended easily by Davis.

Gibbons is sitting in close to Davis's body. Davis has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gibbons is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gibbons is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Davis.
