Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Hilton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giovanni Brusca! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brusca shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hilton pinned against the cage. Hilton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Brusca takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Hilton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hilton connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Brusca looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hilton with a poor takedown and Brusca counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hilton is controlling Brusca's trapped leg to prevent Brusca from advancing to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hilton misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hilton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Brusca's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Brusca's back! Hilton has Brusca flattened out and is raining down punches. Hilton connects with a big shot to the side of Brusca's head.
Hilton is punishing Brusca with strikes - can he finish him?! Hilton punishes Brusca with strikes from the back mount. Hilton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Brusca won't enjoy being in this position. Hilton looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Brusca is tapping - it's over boys! Hilton picks up the submission victory!
