Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jethro Pingshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pingshaw comes to the cage accompanied by Heart of a Champion. The crowd seem to be enjoying Cote's choice of entrance music: Not Afraid. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jethro Pingshaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Cote! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pingshaw throws a right and a left that Cote avoids nicely. Pingshaw lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cote at a distance.
Pingshaw misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nice shot lands for Pingshaw. Cote gets the takedown into side control. Pingshaw is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cote is controlling him well. Cote remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Pingshaw pushes Cote away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cote gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Pingshaw tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Pingshaw is breathing heavily. Pingshaw is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Cote has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pingshaw's face.
Cote landing strikes from the mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote won't let Pingshaw get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Cote content just to control the position here. Pingshaw wants to try and get back to his feet. Cote looking to control and managing it successfully.

Cote controlling his opponent. Cote is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pingshaw has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pingshaw is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cote is working for a guillotine from mount but Pingshaw frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote trying to control but he's not successful this time. Pingshaw trying desperately to get to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jethro Pingshaw will probably get the nod. That's time! Pingshaw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cote nods at Pingshaw to acknowledge the strikes. Pingshaw scores with a leg kick.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cote tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pingshaw tries a head kick but it misses.

Pingshaw ducks right into an uppercut from Cote. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pingshaw, as that shot connected.

Cote takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pingshaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pingshaw throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cote counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cote takes a kick to the side of the head. Cote slips a jab and a cross from Pingshaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Pingshaw misses with a double jab.

Cote takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Pingshaw fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Cote throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cote misses the shot to the body. Pingshaw throws a combination that misses and Cote counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pingshaw lands a slapping body shot.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jethro Pingshaw will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Cote fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pingshaw checks it well. Jethro Pingshaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cote takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Pingshaw is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Pingshaw stalks Cote and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cote's face. Cote staggers backwards, shaken. Cote tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A solid body kick from Pingshaw. Cote gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A slapping body kick lands there for Pingshaw. Cote takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Pingshaw looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Cote pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pingshaw scores with a punch to the head. Cote shoots in for a takedown but Pingshaw shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pingshaw scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

He catches Pingshaw napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pingshaw is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cote has just dragged him back down to the mat. Cote stands up. Pingshaw throws a head kick that misses.

Cote looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Pingshaw will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cote had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Cote tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pingshaw is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Pingshaw misses with a series of wild punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pingshaw comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Pingshaw looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cote thows a leg kick but Pingshaw checks it and Pingshaw counters with a body kick. Pingshaw ducks under a wild hook from Cote. Cote tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cote tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pingshaw paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cote is looking to clinch but Pingshaw is avoiding it.
Cote takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Pingshaw throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Sean Cote has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pingshaw scores with a shot to the body.

and Cote counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pingshaw wants to stand but Cote is controlling the position. Jethro Pingshaw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cote content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jethro Pingshaw. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pingshaw, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
