6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sergei Olyanek! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olyanek scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Arlovsky is trying to get back to half guard. Olyanek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Arlovsky knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Olyanek is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Arlovsky is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Olyanek is trying to get an arm triangle but Arlovsky is defending well. Arlovsky taking a bit of punishment here - Olyanek scoring with strikes. Olyanek throwing shots but missing, from side control. Arlovsky on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Arlovsky tries to get out of the position. Olyanek is looking for a kimura. He might have it! That's one minute gone in the round. Olyanek cracks Arlovsky with a big right hand but Arlovsky just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Olyanek misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sloppy strikes there by Olyanek. Olyanek goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Arlovsky rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Olyanek's guard! Nice work there by Arlovsky! Arlovsky avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Olyanek looks gassed! Arlovsky gets to his feet - Olyanek follows without any prompting. Olyanek closes the distance and clinches up with Arlovsky, looking for a takedown. Olyanek pushes Arlovsky against the cage but Arlovsky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Arlovsky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Olyanek. Arlovsky misses with the combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arlovsky's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Arlovsky duly obliges. Arlovsky fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Andrei Arlovsky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This has been an exciting period of action! Arlovsky throws out a powerful jab. Arlovsky throws a series of strikes that have Olyanek backpedaling.
Arlovsky throws a series of punches but Olyanek avoids them all with ease. Arlovsky throws a series of punches but Olyanek moves out of range. Arlovsky lands a left and a right that send Olyanek crashing to the mat, dazed. Arlovsky thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Arlovsky comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Olyanek takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Olyanek is rocked! Arlovsky throws a monster overhand right that drops Olyanek! Arlovsky follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
