Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kooch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keijo Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kooch might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rusko - Tru Powwa. The crowd seem to be enjoying Richards's choice of entrance music: Rolling Stones - Paint It Black. Keijo Richards will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Kooch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keijo Richards!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kooch can't do much from the bottom here.
Richards cracks Kooch with a big right hand but Kooch just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Kooch is looking to reverse the position.
Richards is looking to take a break and control but Kooch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kooch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kooch wants to control but Richards postures up.
Richards working the head and body with strikes.
Richards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kooch keeps working.
Kooch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kooch dodges the ground and pound from Richards.

Richards in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Richards misses with the ground and pound.
Kooch regains half guard there - taking advantage of Richards's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Richards swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Richards misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Richards throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kooch throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Richards's waist but Richards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kooch off to one side.
Richards lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kooch circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Richards tries to clinch but Kooch is having none of it.
A telegraphed right hand from Richards misses the target.
Richards throws a looping overhand right but Kooch ducks down to avoid it.
Richards misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kooch.
Richards is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kooch.
Kooch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richards sprawls well initially but Kooch persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Richards is trying to get back to full guard.
Kooch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kooch is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Richards defends it well.

Kooch is working for a kimura but Richards is defending it quite comfortably.
Kooch wants to take a breather but Richards is having none of it.
Richards makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Richards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kooch has gone for a leg lock! Richards slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kooch's guard.
Kooch is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Richards loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Richards trying to control the position from guard on top but Kooch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Richards content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kooch has locked up a guillotine! Kooch's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Richards is holding on here and Kooch must be using up a lot of energy. Richards has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kooch gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
