The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov misses with a looping right.
Nice sprawl there from Smirnov as Growes shoots in.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Growes is defended easily by Smirnov.
Growes misses with a takedown attempt - Smirnov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Growes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Growes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smirnov as he jumps to the side.
Smirnov jabs at Growes's body.
Smirnov looks to score with a jab to the body but Growes is just out of range.

Growes tries to close the distance and clinch but Smirnov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Smirnov drops his hands momentarily and Growes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
No joy there for Growes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Growes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Smirnov missing with a left hand there. Growes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Growes scores with a sloppy right hand. Smirnov should have avoided that one.
Smirnov lands a really nice looking cross but Growes seems unphased.

Smirnov dodges the punch combination from Growes.
Growes throws a body kick that misses.
Growes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Smirnov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Smirnov cracks Growes with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smirnov has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Growes to stand back up!
Growes is rocked!
It looks like Glen Growes has been cut.
Smirnov dances in with a quick combination. Growes is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Smirnov snaps Growes's head back. Growes stumbles backwards against the cage. Smirnov steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Growes's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Growes just didn't come prepared.
