1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Gracie! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murphy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Murphy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Murphy thuds his shin into the meat of Gracie's side. Murphy scores with a decent looking hook. Gracie dives in and grabs Murphy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Murphy pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Murphy!

Gracie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Murphy lands a nice looking body kick. Gracie looks gassed! Nice takedown defense from Murphy. No joy for Gracie on that attempt. Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Brandon Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Gracie. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Murphy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Murphy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Murphy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Murphy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murphy in side control lands a decent elbow. Murphy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Murphy stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet.

Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Murphy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Murphy is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie controlling the position. Murphy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Murphy dodges the ground and pound from Gracie. Murphy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Murphy is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Murphy is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
