Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A solid leg kick lands there for Tyler.
Tyler fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Wright checks it well.
Wright keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Wright blocks the body kick.
Tyler tries to land a leg kick but Wright saw it coming and moves away.
Wright closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wright lands in his opponent's guard.
Wright must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wright is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A big head kick from Tyler and Wright is sent sprawling to the canvas!

It looks like Jake Wright has been cut.
Tyler trying to control the position from guard on top but Wright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wright is still in real trouble! Can Tyler finish him?
Wright is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tyler is controlling him.

Wright seems to have recovered his senses.
Wright wants to sweep but no luck.

Wright is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Tyler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wright shoots for a double leg takedown but Tyler sprawls well. He's pushed Wright's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tyler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wright on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tyler. Tyler obviously looking to wear him down.

Tyler throws a body kick that misses.
Wright shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tyler's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wright throws a big right hand that misses.

Wright postures up in Tyler's guard and throws a big left but Tyler blocks it.

Wright has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tyler to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Wright is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tyler pulls down on the head and he's put Wright to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sam Tyler!
