Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnston comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Zoo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rodney Gailfus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Gailfus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Johnston!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gailfus.
Johnston looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Gailfus wants to clinch.

Gailfus shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnston manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnston is on top in guard.

Johnston lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gailfus down.

Johnston is looking to take a break and control but Gailfus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

You can see the frustration on Gailfus's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jake Johnston just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
