Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vova Aushev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Murphy! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aushev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Aushev looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Murphy misses with a series of wild punches.
Murphy moves into the clinch successfully.
Aushev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Murphy fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Murphy tries to bum rush Aushev with a series of wild strikes but Aushev uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Murphy misses with a series of wild punches.
Murphy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Aushev. Aushev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Vova Aushev has been cut. Murphy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Aushev. Murphy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Murphy moves into the clinch. Murphy crunches a lovely knee into Aushev's ribcage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Murphy lands a body shot. Aushev on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Murphy keeps control of Aushev as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Aushev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Murphy has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Aushev drags the fight down to the ground.

Murphy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Aushev is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vova Aushev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Murphy. Aushev prevents Murphy from breaking the clinch. Aushev is trying to break free. A knee to the head by Aushev.
It looks like Chris Murphy has been cut. Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aushev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Aushev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Aushev prevents Murphy from getting the reversal. Aushev is working for a guillotine from mount but Murphy frees his head quite easily.
Murphy wants to control but Aushev is having none of it. Aushev throwing strikes here but Murphy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Aushev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Murphy trying desperately to get to his feet.

Murphy wants to control but Aushev is having none of it. Murphy is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Murphy wants to hold on but Aushev pushes him away. Murphy slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Murphy has one foot on Aushev's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Murphy lands a head shot. Murphy looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Murphy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Aushev. That did some damage! Murphy clinches. Murphy tries for a takedown. No joy.
Murphy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chris Murphy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.
Aushev gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Murphy misses with the combination.
Murphy scores with a hook to the body. Aushev takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Murphy dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Murphy stuffs the takedown. Aushev doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Aushev on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Murphy. Murphy obviously looking to wear him down.
Aushev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Murphy forces Aushev back against the cage and clinches. A short right from Murphy on the inside. Murphy manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Aushev tries to pull guard but Murphy holds him up against the cage and eventually Aushev drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vova Aushev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murphy lands a shoulder strike. Murphy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aushev fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Aushev wants to break free but Murphy has control.

Aushev postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Murphy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aushev, into his guard. Murphy trying to control the position from guard on top but Aushev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aushev pulls Murphy in to control the position. Aushev looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Murphy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Aushev has a closed guard, preventing Murphy from standing up. Murphy wants to control from the top but Aushev keeps moving. Aushev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Aushev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Murphy misses with a series of wild punches.
Murphy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Murphy connects with a knee to the head.
Aushev is pressed up against the cage. Murphy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aushev down to the mat. Aushev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Murphy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aushev.

Aushev is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Murphy trying to control the action but Aushev is working from the bottom. Oh Aushev is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Murphy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Aushev kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Aushev seems to have got his legs back now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aushev tries to bench press Murphy off him but Murphy keeps the position. Murphy trying to control the position but Aushev is working away. Murphy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Murphy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Aushev to his feet. Chris Murphy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Murphy tries to bum rush Aushev with a series of wild strikes but Aushev uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Aushev lands a jab-cross combination. Aushev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Aushev shoots in and drives through. Murphy sprawls well. A chopping leg kick lands by Murphy. Murphy scores with a kick to the midsection. Murphy throws a leg kick which misses Aushev's front leg but catches the back leg as Aushev tries to avoid it. Aushev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Murphy is fending him off so far but Aushev persists. Nope, Murphy circles away and we're back to standing. Murphy connects with a looping right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aushev stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Murphy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Murphy displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Murphy tries to bum rush Aushev with a series of wild strikes but Aushev uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Murphy wants to clinch. Aushev dodges the punch combination from Murphy.
A nice leg kick lands there from Murphy. Murphy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Aushev's calf. Murphy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Aushev blocks the body kick.
Aushev is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Aushev takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Murphy lands an overhand right. Murphy closes the distance and clinches. Murphy tries to pull guard but Aushev won't allow it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murphy throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aushev is trying to break the clinch but Murphy has him pressed against the cage. Aushev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Murphy just stands there and leans against the cage. Murphy breaks the clinch.
Murphy throws a combination that misses and Aushev counters with a low kick, right behind Murphy 's knee. Murphy throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Murphy has Aushev up against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aushev is controlling him. Aushev slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Murphy is pulling down on Aushev's head. It's preventing any offense from Aushev, at least for the moment. Vova Aushev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Murphy wants to stand up but Aushev is controlling him.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Murphy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Murphy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
