Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between matt bera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Freak Show (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Max Freak Show enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, matt bera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Freak Show! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! bera defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Freak Show. bera blocks a head kick by Freak Show.
Freak Show shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches bera napping and manages to drive through into side control! bera tries to improve position but can't. Freak Show is working bera over with some ground and pound from side control. Freak Show wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by bera, who protects the arm well. bera manages to get back to half guard. Freak Show scoring with strikes to the body and head. bera wants to control but Freak Show is keeping busy.
bera tries to get to full guard but Freak Show has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freak Show throwing shots but bera is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. bera wants to get back to his feet. bera trying to hold on to Freak Show's head to control him but Freak Show postures up.
Freak Show takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. bera actively working from the bottom here. Freak Show wants to lay and pray for a moment but bera keeps working. Freak Show might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control bera kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. bera wants to control but Freak Show is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. bera gets full guard. Freak Show wants to stand but bera has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Freak Show trying to control but bera is working from the bottom. Freak Show looking to pass the guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. bera shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Freak Show manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Freak Show looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. bera looking to sit in guard and control but Freak Show gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. bera is looking to stand up but Freak Show isn't so interested in that idea. Max Freak Show dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Freak Show must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. bera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. bera working for a triangle but Freak Show defends it easily.
bera has his foot on Freak Show's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Freak Show works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freak Show makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Freak Show stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. bera swivels though and keeps the full guard. bera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. bera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Freak Show defends it easily. bera trying to keep a closed guard but Freak Show is proving a slippery customer.
bera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Freak Show is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Freak Show stands and throws bera's legs to the side, diving into side control. bera manages to get back to half guard. Freak Show escapes and gets back to his feet. bera scores with a body shot.
bera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Freak Show to the mat! Freak Show manages to get full guard. bera tries to free his leg and advance position but Freak Show is retaining full guard. Freak Show keeping moving, preventing bera from controlling successfully. bera keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Freak Show's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Freak Show can do anything to dispel that myth. bera wants to take a breather but Freak Show is having none of it. bera is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Freak Show is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. bera thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Freak Show's head. bera working Freak Show over with strikes. bera winds up and cracks Freak Show with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Freak Show really doesn't want to stay on the ground with bera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Freak Show working the head and body with strikes. Freak Show sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. bera defending well though. Freak Show looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Freak Show throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Freak Show decides to stand and escape the position. bera drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. bera tries to free his leg and advance position but Freak Show is retaining full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to matt bera. Well bera has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
