2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pelle Plutt! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fox looks for a takedown but Plutt sprawls well. Fox could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Plutt looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Plutt trying to control but Fox is working from the bottom. Plutt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fox is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Plutt looking to sit in guard and control but Fox gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Fox won't allow Plutt to sweep him here. Plutt can't keep his opponent in guard - Fox advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Plutt is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Plutt shoots in and bounces Fox off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Plutt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fox is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Plutt, into his guard. Plutt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fox doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fox manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
