Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Alvarado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Stahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brendan Stahl has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Alvarado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brendan Stahl!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarado fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Alvarado lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stahl circles away quickly and effectively.
Alvarado stuffs the takedown.
Stahl shoots in for a takedown but Alvarado shows good takedown defense.
Stahl tries to clinch there but Alvarado circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Alvarado as Stahl shoots in.
Max Alvarado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Stahl.

and Stahl decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alvarado's guard.
Stahl throws and elbow that misses. Alvarado uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stahl's guard. Nice move by Alvarado!
Alvarado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stahl swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stahl has a closed guard, preventing Alvarado from standing up.

Alvarado won't allow Stahl to get back to his feet.
Alvarado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stahl swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stahl manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stahl can't control as he wanted to and Alvarado manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stahl is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stahl has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Alvarado is bucking up trying to escape but Stahl cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Stahl swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Alvarado is now in Stahl's guard. A big mistake from Stahl there, giving up the dominant position!
Stahl looks gassed!
Stahl wants to control the position but Alvarado says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Alvarado throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Alvarado content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Alvarado prevents Stahl from standing back up.
Stahl is staying active underneath Alvarado, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Alvarado moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Stahl.
Stahl looking for a sweep but Alvarado has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Stahl wants to hold on but Alvarado pushes him away.
Alvarado sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Alvarado is working for a guillotine from mount but Stahl frees his head quite easily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Stahl darts in and clinches Alvarado up against the cage.

Stahl is working for takedown but Alvarado is calmly controlling the position for now.
Stahl tries to score a body lock takedown but Alvarado shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stahl has picked Alvarado up - he's going for a ride! Stahl dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Alvarado wants to control but Stahl is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Stahl wants to work for an arm triangle but Alvarado is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Stahl is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alvarado doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stahl.

Stahl has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alvarado is proving hard to escape from.
Stahl drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Alvarado dives on top into guard.
Alvarado passes Stahl's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Alvarado is taking a breather. Stahl says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Alvarado is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Stahl can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Alvarado looking to control but Stahl is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stahl is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Poor strikes thrown by Alvarado there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stahl throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alvarado escapes and throws Stahl's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Stahl is looking to regain half guard here but Alvarado keeps moving and retains side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Alvarado decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Stahl shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stahl was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stahl pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Stahl can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alvarado is looking to escape.

Brendan Stahl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Stahl winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
