The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wallace passes to full mount! Wallace working for a guillotine from mount but Menhoaf is in no mood to give up. Menhoaf tries to hold on but Wallace postures up. Menhoaf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wallace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Menhoaf prevents Wallace from taking his back. Menhoaf is squirming around, avoiding Wallace's attempts to control the action. Menhoaf is in a horrible position here. Wallace smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Wallace misses with a head shot. Wallace with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Menhoaf is desperately trying to improve his position but Wallace has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace is breathing heavily. Menhoaf keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Wallace jumps back into Menhoaf's guard. Wallace is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Menhoaf is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Menhoaf has escaped and now he's on top! Wallace lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Menhoaf! Menhoaf tries to hold on but Wallace postures up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wallace has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Menhoaf is forced to tap!
