The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton wants to clinch up but Phoenix keeps it at a distance.
Orton fails with a takedown attempt.
Orton looks to land a right hand but Phoenix moved out of range.
Orton tries to close the distance and clinch but Phoenix swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Orton moves in looking to clinch but Phoenix pushes him off.

Phoenix shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Orton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phoenix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Orton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Phoenix has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Orton has managed to get both his arms back between Phoenix's legs - danger averted.
Phoenix bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Orton's guard.

Phoenix drops back looking for a leg! Orton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Orton manages to kick Phoenix off! Phoenix jumps back into Orton's guard.
