Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill has chosen Framing Hanely as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Hill! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Mason throws a nice looking combination but Hill bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mason as he avoids it easily. A slapping leg kick lands for Mason.
Mason shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Hill counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hill advances to half guard. Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mason trying to control but Hill postures up.
Mason is trying to get back to full guard. Mason wants to get back to his feet. Hill is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mason! Hill tries to push Mason's head away but Mason is holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hill is working for a guillotine from mount but Mason frees his head quite easily.
Hill should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mason has given up his back here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mason tries to escape but Hill has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Mason manages to escape to his feet. Chris Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason shoots in looking for a takedown. Hill tries to sprawl out of it but Mason keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hill manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hill drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hill with a flurry of punches that miss. Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hill pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mason is keeping the position for now. Hill trying to control but Mason is working from the bottom. Hill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mason swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hill wants to clinch up but Mason keeps it at a distance. Mason gets a clinch. Mason fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mason pulls Hill into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hill just trying to survive but Mason is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Mason lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Mason looking to break Hill's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hill remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mason will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Hill defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mason looking to hold on to the position here but Hill rolls and ends up regaining guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mason prevents Hill from getting back to his feet. Hill keeping moving, preventing Mason from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Craig Mason will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

And that's the end of the fight! Chris Hill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mason has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
