The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Davol.
Davol shoots in for a double leg but Muffins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Davol misses with a two punch combination.
Bruno Davol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Muffins tries to clinch but Davol moves out of range.
Davol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Muffins swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Davol counters with a single leg into guard. Muffins didn't expect that.
Muffins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davol on the ground.

Davol wants to pass the guard but Muffins is keeping the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davol is looking to advance position but Muffins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Davol is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bruno Davol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
