Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Hoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rorouni kenshin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu Hoshi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to rorouni kenshin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Hoshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, rorouni kenshin! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoshi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from kenshin. kenshin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hoshi displaying some good clinch control by pressing kenshin up against the cage. Hoshi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. kenshin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hoshi smiles and moves away.
Hoshi lands with a nice body kick. kenshin dives in and grabs Hoshi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoshi pushes down on kenshin's head and hops out. Ryu Hoshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of rorouni kenshin. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hoshi.
Ryu Hoshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoshi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hoshi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hoshi stands up. Hoshi instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoshi is trying to force a seperation but kenshin has the dominant position. Hoshi pulls guard successfully.
Hoshi is looking to stand up but kenshin isn't so interested in that idea. kenshin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. kenshin looks gassed! Hoshi wants to stand but kenshin is controlling the position. Hoshi pushes kenshin off and scrambles back to his feet.
kenshin circles away from the clinch attempt and kenshin counters with a shoot takedown. Hoshi fights it but they end up in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoshi looking to control.
kenshin is looking to work some ground and pound but Hoshi has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoshi wants to stand up but kenshin is controlling him. Hoshi scrambles and gets back to his feet.
kenshin wants to clinch. Hoshi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches kenshin on the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoshi with a poor takedown and kenshin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by kenshin. kenshin successfully pulls guard.
Hoshi decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on kenshin, up you get! Hoshi wants to clinch but kenshin slips to the side and kenshin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hoshi looking for a takedown. Hoshi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hoshi is trying to break the clinch but kenshin has him pressed against the cage. Hoshi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but kenshin has him pressed against the cage. Hoshi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hoshi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hoshi wants to break free but kenshin has control.
Hoshi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoshi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hoshi looks to throw a body kick and kenshin counters into the clinch. Nicely done. kenshin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hoshi walks away with a smile on his face. kenshin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoshi forces kenshin back against the cage and clinches. kenshin tries to pull guard but Hoshi holds him up against the cage and eventually kenshin drops back down to his feet.
kenshin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hoshi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
kenshin misses with a takedown and Hoshi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hoshi scores with a takedown into kenshin's guard. kenshin keeping full guard, as Hoshi tries to pass. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hoshi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Hoshi moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryu Hoshi dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Hoshi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hoshi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! kenshin working to try and regain half guard.
Hoshi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for kenshin on the ground. Hoshi controlling his opponent. Hoshi scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hoshi wants to control the pace but kenshin is squirming around nicely. Hoshi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because kenshin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. kenshin is breathing heavily. kenshin taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. kenshin wants to control but Hoshi is having none of it. Hoshi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Hoshi cracks kenshin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hoshi sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Hoshi trying to control but he's not successful this time. kenshin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. kenshin tries to get back to half guard but can't. kenshin is bucking up trying to escape but Hoshi cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoshi trying to control but he's not successful this time. Hoshi avoids the attempt from kenshin to control. Hoshi with a couple of short strikes. Hoshi landing shots from mount. Hoshi is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But kenshin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from kenshin! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. kenshin stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hoshi moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoshi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Hoshi throws a sloppy head kick so kenshin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hoshi controlling kenshin's posture. Hoshi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. kenshin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and kenshin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. kenshin preventing the sweep. Hoshi is trying to keep kenshin in close.
Hoshi pulls kenshin in close to prevent any damage. Ryu Hoshi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hoshi trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hoshi scores with a jab to the head.
kenshin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hoshi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryu Hoshi dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Hoshi throws a quick inside leg kick. Hoshi sizes up kenshin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. kenshin closes the distance but Hoshi moves to the side and Hoshi counters with a straight right hand. Hoshi closes the distance and clinches. Hoshi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. kenshin fights it off and pushes away nicely.
kenshin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hoshi counters with a stiff right hand. Ryu Hoshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. kenshin tries for a takedown but Hoshi circles away easily and Hoshi counters with a shoot takedown. kenshin fights it but they end up in guard. Hoshi stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hoshi moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. kenshin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hoshi lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Hoshi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming kenshin to the mat! kenshin manages to get full guard. Hoshi wants to get up but he can't break kenshin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. kenshin is working an open guard so Hoshi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Hoshi tries to grapple but his opponent circles and kenshin counters by clinching up. kenshin tries to pull guard but Hoshi won't allow it.
Ryu Hoshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of rorouni kenshin. kenshin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hoshi just stands there and leans against the cage. Hoshi wants to get back to striking at distance but kenshin won't allow it.
Hoshi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. kenshin tries to pull guard but Hoshi holds him up against the cage and eventually kenshin drops back down to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoshi is trying to drag kenshin to the mat but kenshin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hoshi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight stays on the outside here - Hoshi looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hoshi with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Hoshi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hoshi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hoshi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hoshi gets control of kenshin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hoshi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Hoshi uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hoshi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hoshi in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
kenshin tries to reverse the position but Hoshi maintains control. kenshin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. kenshin taking some punishment here, with Hoshi in his half guard. kenshin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. kenshin won't allow Hoshi to pass to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoshi looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hoshi working over kenshin with some ground and pound. kenshin looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. kenshin is positioning himself well to prevent Hoshi advancing to mount. Hoshi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hoshi seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. kenshin has his takedown stuffed so Hoshi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! kenshin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
rorouni kenshin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! kenshin prevents Hoshi from getting the reversal. Ryu Hoshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. kenshin in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryu Hoshi showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hoshi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
