Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hector Stavros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bokser Bokser! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stavros shoots in and bounces Bokser off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Stavros trying to control the position from guard on top but Bokser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bokser keeping full guard, as Stavros tries to pass. Stavros throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bokser works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stavros trying to control but Bokser is working from the bottom. Stavros is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bokser is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Bokser is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stavros throws a strike but Bokser rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bokser wants to get up but he can't break Stavros's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Bokser throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stavros works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stavros fails with the takedown. Bokser throws a series of punches but Stavros avoids them all with ease. Stavros shoots in for a takedown but Bokser shows good takedown defense. Stavros looks for a takedown but Bokser sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Stavros. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bokser misses with a wild combination.

No luck for Stavros with that takedown attempt. Stavros is breathing heavily. Bokser rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stavros moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bokser tries to bum rush Stavros with a series of wild strikes but Stavros uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A punch combination from Bokser misses. Bokser goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Hector Stavros has been cut. Bokser swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stavros feints and as Bokser raises his hands in defense, Stavros changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stavros passes Bokser's left leg - he's now in half guard. Stavros working Bokser over with strikes. Stavros works his foot free and advances to mount. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Stavros working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stavros with good strikes from the mount here! Stavros looking to control and managing it successfully. Bokser in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Stavros lands a heavy elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stavros putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Stavros lands a big elbow. Stavros has hold of Bokser's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bokser manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Stavros fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Stavros looking to finish Bokser with some ground and pound. This is bad for Bokser! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stavros lands a big elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hector Stavros dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hector Stavros's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bokser throws a right and a left that Stavros avoids nicely. Bokser throws a nice looking combination but Stavros bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bokser Bokser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A good leg kick by Stavros. Stavros shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stavros was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Stavros breaks from Bokser's wrist control and lands an elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stavros lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Stavros looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stavros jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bokser manages to avoid the submission attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stavros in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Stavros taking a break here but Bokser is having none of it and regains half guard. Stavros stops Bokser from getting back to his feet.
Stavros is trying to control the action in half guard but Bokser is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bokser is staying active underneath Stavros, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Stavros thows a huge punch but Bokser dodges it nicely.
Hector Stavros overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bokser tries to kick Stavros off but Stavros keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bokser slaps away a takedown attempt from Stavros, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bokser throws a right and a left that both miss. Stavros bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Stavros cracks Bokser with a big right hand but Bokser just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stavros tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stavros has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stavros has hold of Bokser's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bokser seems comfortable defending it but Stavros has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bokser is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bokser is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Stavros couldn't care less - he's delighted!
