Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ping Pong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dowe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pong has a hand on Dowe's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Dowe takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

and Dowe counters with a shoot takedown. Pong fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ping Pong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dowe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Pong jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dowe is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dowe and Pong has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pong goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dowe has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pong but great work by Dowe.

Pong is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Dowe is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Dowe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dowe can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pong is looking to escape.

Dowe wants to control the pace but Pong is squirming around nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dowe is landing with some decent strikes but Pong is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Pong tries to lock up and control but Dowe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pong isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dowe stacks Pong on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dowe!

Pong is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dowe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dowe's back!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ping Pong.
Well Dowe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
