Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canadian Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Canadian Assassin!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans closes this distance looking for a takedown but Assassin circles away.
A swing and a miss from Assassin.
Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice uppercut lands for Assassin. That snapped Evans's head back.

Assassin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Assassin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Assassin thuds his right hand into Evans's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Assassin moves out of range of the strikes.
Evans closes the distance but Assassin moves to the side
and Assassin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Assassin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

enabling Assassin to counter with a crisp jab.
Evans takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

letting Assassin counter with a right hand.

Assassin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evans's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Assassin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Evans is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Evans. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Assassin scores with the left hand. Evans knows he should have avoided that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Canadian Assassin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Assassin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Evans looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Assassin is looking to slow Evans down with leg kicks.

and Assassin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Evans won't be happy with that.

Assassin decides to stand back up. Assassin steps back and let's Evans get back to his feet.
Evans shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Assassin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Evans's guard.
Evans preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Evans has momentary wrist control but Assassin slips an elbow through the middle.
Assassin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Evans really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Assassin throws and elbow that misses. Evans uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Assassin's guard. Nice move by Evans!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Evans accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Assassin wants to stand and escape but Evans is having none of it.

Assassin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Evans off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Assassin counters with a single leg into guard. Evans didn't expect that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Assassin wants to stand but Evans has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Assassin stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Evans has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Assassin manages to get his head free but now Evans has transitioned to an armbar! Assassin grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Evans! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chuck Evans!
