The bell rings for round one and we are underway! jow stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet. jow misses with a takedown and Brown counters with a nice double leg into side control. jow won't be happy with that. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if jow can do anything to dispel that myth. jow is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Brown is one step ahead and moves to full mount! jow really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Brown looking to control and managing it successfully. Brown seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down jow for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. jow is desperately trying to improve his position but Brown has a good base and remains in mount. jow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Brown avoids the attempt from jow to control. jow is in all sorts of trouble here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Derek Brown just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. jow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - jow lands in his opponent's guard. jow trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brown pulls jow in close to his closed guard and prevents jow from doing any damage or advancing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brown drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. jow wants to control but Brown postures up. Brown tries to move into full mount but can't pass jow's legs. jow wants to control but Brown postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. jow trying to remain calm as Brown controls from the top position. Brown is looking to take a break and control but jow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. jow gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! jow flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. jow tries to hold on but Brown postures up. jow tries to reverse the position but Brown maintains control. Brown sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown won't let jow get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Brown controlling from mount.

Derek Brown just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. jow with a lazy takedown attempt and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. jow is breathing heavily. Brown controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brown looking to pass the guard. jow being controlled here, momentarily. jow is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brown is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Brown dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
jow throws a series of punches but Brown moves out of range. jow wants to clinch but Brown slips to the side and Brown counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Brown with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Derek Brown just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. jow closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard. jow drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brown dives on top into guard. Brown is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. jow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Brown controls from within his opponent's guard. Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. jow can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brown controls the pace. jow trying to keep a closed guard but Brown is proving a slippery customer.

jow tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg. Brown seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Derek Brown just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. jow tried to score with a low kick but Brown checks it. jow tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance. Brown bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Brown advances to mount. Brown content just to control the position here.
And that's the end of the fight! Derek Brown showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brown, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
