Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arther Sleep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naoto Date (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sleep comes to the cage accompanied by Van Halen JUMP. Arther Sleep has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Arther Sleep!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Naoto Date!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Sleep.
Date takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Date gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Arther Sleep seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sleep looks to throw the jab but Date is out of range.
Sleep jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sleep shoots in looking for a takedown. Date tries to sprawl out of it but Sleep keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Date manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sleep tries to clinch but Date is having none of it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sleep.
Date is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Sleep is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Date has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sleep looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Date is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sleep asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sleep is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Date knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sleep tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Date can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Date is trying to buck Sleep off.
Date is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Date bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sleep throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sleep scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jab by Sleep.

Sleep misses the shot to the body.

Sleep shoots in and bounces Date off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Date looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sleep is one step ahead there.

Sleep drops back, looking for a kneebar! Date looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Date looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Date!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Date trying to control the position but Sleep is working away.

Date tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Date has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Date is looking to take a break and control but Sleep is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sleep is trying to improve his position.
Date working away.

Date tries for a kimura but Sleep is defending well.
Sleep wants to control but Date postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sleep is trying to escape the position but Date is controlling the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sleep works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sleep is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Sleep slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sleep throws an overhand right that lands on Date's shoulder, as Date tries to avoid the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sleep looks to land a right hand but Date moved out of range.

Sleep shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Sleep is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Date has managed to free his arm - good work.

Sleep is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Date defends it well.
Date works his way to full guard. Good work.
Date is pulling down on Sleep's head. It's preventing any offense from Sleep, at least for the moment.

Sleep postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Date is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sleep, into his guard.

Sleep is looking for a triangle but Date pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Date trying to control the position from guard on top but Sleep is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Date pushes down on Sleep's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Date is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Sleep is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Date pulls his head out easily.

Sleep looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Date has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sleep is wriggling around trying to escape.
Date can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sleep is looking to escape.
Date looking to control and managing it successfully.
Sleep is desperately trying to improve his position but Date has a good base and remains in mount.
Sleep prevents Date from taking his back.

Date with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Date has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Sleep! Can he survive? No! He's out! Date gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
