Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurtiz Larper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tetsuo Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kurtiz Larper has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kurtiz Larper seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kurtiz Larper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tetsuo Chiba! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chiba closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Kurtiz Larper has been cut. Larper gets in close and instigates a clinch. Larper breaks from the clinch.
Chiba throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Larper shoots in for a double leg but Chiba sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Larper avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chiba throws a right hand that Larper ducks under and follows up with a left that Larper also avoids with ease. Larper fails with the takedown. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Larper shoots in but Chiba avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurtiz Larper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chiba scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Chiba misses with a body kick. Chiba gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Larper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Kurtiz Larper just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Chiba rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Larper moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Larper dodges the punch combination from Chiba.

Larper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chiba sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Larper somewhat. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Chiba throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Larper. Chiba misses with a double jab.
Larper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chiba sprawls well initially but Larper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Larper wants to free his trapped foot but Chiba is holding on for dear life with his legs. Larper stands up from half guard. Larper avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Chiba stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chiba wants it to stay on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Larper throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chiba was covering up waiting for the punch and Larper finishes the takedown easily into guard. Larper sitting in guard, not really doing much. Larper is pushing down on Chiba's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chiba is fighting to maintain full guard but Larper has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larper controlling the action here. Larper stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Chiba to get to his feet. Larper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Larper controlling from the full mount. Larper get's back to his feet. Tetsuo Chiba is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Chiba throws a series of punches but Larper avoids them all with ease. Larper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chiba sprawls well initially but Larper persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Larper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Larper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Kurtiz Larper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Larper's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
