Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Solid Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buddy Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Snake with that takedown attempt.
Snake looks for a takedown but Montoya sprawls well.

Montoya scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Montoya in particular looking to stall.
Montoya wants to lay and pray for a moment but Snake keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Montoya counters with a head kick. That will keep Snake thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Montoya bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Snake is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Snake is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Montoya pulls his head out easily.
Montoya tries to pass the half guard into mount. Snake knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Montoya is looking to stand up but Snake won't let him.

Snake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montoya gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Montoya slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Montoya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Snake tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Snake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Snake is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Montoya tries to get to full guard but Snake has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Snake is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Montoya has managed to free his arm - good work.
Montoya wants to get back to his feet.
Montoya wants to control but Snake is keeping busy.

Snake seems to be working for a kimura but Montoya defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snake advances position into side control!

Snake is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Montoya knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Montoya is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Snake's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Montoya kicks Snake off and gets back to his feet.
Montoya shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Snake pinned against the cage. Snake gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Montoya sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Snake's guard.

Snake is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buddy Montoya dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Montoya.
Snake tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Montoya wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Montoya has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Snake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montoya doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montoya manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Snake quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Montoya has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Snake celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
