Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Cunha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kline has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Cunha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Kline! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kline shoots in for a takedown but Cunha shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kline fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cunha drops his hands momentarily and Kline takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like William Cunha has been cut. Kline wants to clinch. Kline closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cunha circles away. William Cunha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Kline. Kline takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kline avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cunha ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Cunha stuffs the takedown. Cunha misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cunha looks to land a combination but Kline avoids it well. Kline throws a right and a left that both miss. Kline takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Kline looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cunha displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Andy Kline has been cut. Cunha lands with a right hand. Cunha tests Kline's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cunha swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cunha connects with a body shot. Cunha lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Cunha throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kline. Kline slips a jab and a cross from Cunha.

Cunha cracks a nice hook into Kline's ribs. Cunha's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cunha duly obliges. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cunha throws a right and a left that Kline avoids nicely. Good standup being displayed there by Cunha as he connects with a hook. Cunha swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cunha slaps away a takedown attempt from Kline, before circling back to the center of the mat. Cunha connects with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cunha throws a right and a left that both miss. Cunha stuffs the takedown attempt from Kline. Kline gets slowly back to his feet. Cunha is looking to wear down Kline with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A lazy left from Cunha finds it's target. Kline shoots in looking for a takedown. Cunha tries to sprawl out of it but Kline keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cunha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kline takes one on the button. Cunha scores with a decent looking hook. Andy Kline seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kline uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cunha. Cunha throws a nice looking combination but Kline bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kline dives in and grabs Cunha's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cunha pushes down on Kline's head and hops out. Cunha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kline wants to clinch. Kline misses with an uppercut. Cunha saw that one coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kline tries for a takedown but Cunha sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cunha throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kline. Kline closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kline lands in his opponent's guard. Cunha is looking to stand up but Kline isn't so interested in that idea. Kline connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kline throwing strikes but missing. Kline has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cunha is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kline is controlling him. Kline throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kline drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kline jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kline loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kline thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kline shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cunha as he jumps to the side. William Cunha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cunha looks to land a right hand but Kline moved out of range. Kline swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kline shoots for a double leg takedown but Cunha sprawls well. He's pushed Kline's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cunha scores with the left hand. Kline knows he should have avoided that one. Kline slips a straight right by Cunha. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kline shoots for a takedown but Cunha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cunha will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

William Cunha dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
No joy there for Cunha, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cunha throws a right hand that Kline ducks under and follows up with a left that Kline also avoids with ease. Kline shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cunha sprawls well. Cunha wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kline gets slowly back to his feet. Cunha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kline fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kline tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cunha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kline somewhat. William Cunha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Kline. Cunha connects with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kline. Cunha's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cunha duly obliges. Cunha scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kline in his tracks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cunha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kline was well out of range. Poor timing from Cunha. Cunha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kline looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cunha stuffs the takedown. Kline shoots for a takedown but Cunha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. William Cunha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kline shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kline slips nicely into half guard. Kline is looking for a kimura but Cunha is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kline to get the leverage. Cunha looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kline in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cunha tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kline!
