Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Levond Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels comes into the arena with Compella & The Twister : Dropped blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Levond Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix Rios!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rios fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rios throws a nice looking combination but Daniels bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rios wants to land a leg kick but Daniels is out of range.
Daniels misses with a low kick.
Rios throws a half hearted mid kick.
Rios throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rios shoots in and drives through. Daniels sprawls well.
Rios throws a right and a left that Daniels avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rios gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Daniels works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Daniels is trying to work for a kimura but Rios is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Daniels feints and then cracks Rios's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rios down.

Daniels moves out of range as Rios throws a body kick.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Daniels motions for Rios to come forward. Daniels throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Daniels keeps the fight on the outside.

Daniels drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Daniels stands up over Rios, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Daniels will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rios throws a couple of heel strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rios escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daniels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rios misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rios throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Rios, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daniels.
Rios misses with a two punch combination.
Rios throws a push kick but Daniels slaps the foot to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Daniels avoids the head kick by Rios.

Rios closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rios throws an elbow but Daniels slips to the side and avoids it well.
Daniels is looking to reverse the position.
Daniels is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rios off and has taken his back!

Rios is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Daniels gets his way!

Daniels is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rios knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rios for a finish.
Daniels is trying to stick to Rios's back but Rios is turning into Daniels. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Daniels's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rios.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rios wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rios lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daniels circles away quickly and effectively.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Daniels swats away the attempt to clinch by Rios.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rios looks to throw the jab but Daniels is out of range.
Rios tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Felix Rios comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rios has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
