The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cornel looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Flores looks to land a combination but Cornel avoids it well.
Cornel tries to clinch but Flores is having none of it.
Cornel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cornel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A clash of legs there as Flores blocks the low kick.
Cornel moves out of range as Flores strikes.
Flores sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Flores misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cornel lands with a nice combination. Flores backs away looking to recover.

Flores throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cornel shoots in and drives through. Flores sprawls well.

Cornel throws a nice inside leg kick.

Flores throws a sloppy head kick and Cornel moves out of range easily.

A lazy left from Cornel finds it's target.
Cornel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Flores is out of range and Cornel settles back down.
Cornel wants to clinch.
Flores misses with a combination
and Cornel counters with a straight right hand.
Flores will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cornel shoots in but no luck this time.
Gabriel Flores has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Cornel.
Flores throws a head kick that misses
and Cornel makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cornel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cornel scores with a nice strike.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Cornel.

Flores is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cornel's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Flores is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cornel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cornel's back!
Cornel is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Flores gets his way!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flores is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Flores has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Cornel is in real trouble here. Flores gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Cornel is tapping out! Flores wins by rear naked choke!
