Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Carlonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geoffrey Besset (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlonov comes to the cage accompanied by Glukoza - Schweine. Besset has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Geoffrey Besset is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Geoffrey Besset!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlonov tries to close the distance and clinch but Besset swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Besset looks gassed!
Carlonov shoots in for a takedown but Besset shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Carlonov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Besset circles away.
Carlonov shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Carlonov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlonov shoots in for a double leg but Besset sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Carlonov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Besset sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carlonov somewhat.

and Carlonov counters with a shoot takedown. Besset fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Carlonov wants to control from the top but Besset keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlonov wanted to stand there but Besset had control of the position.
Besset wants to control the position but Carlonov says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Carlonov drops an elbow to the side of Besset's head.
Besset has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carlonov is working away from the top position though.
Carlonov is trying to control the action in half guard but Besset is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carlonov in particular looking to stall.
Carlonov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Besset wants to get back to full guard but Carlonov has passed into side control.

Carlonov lands a big shot there that rocks Besset but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Besset tries to reverse the position but Carlonov maintains control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Carlonov! Besset is hurt baaadly! Carlonov is firing away with more strikes - Besset is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
