Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frankie Reynolds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quinton Jackson! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson slips under a jab from Reynolds. Jackson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jackson misses with a hook. Reynolds tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
Reynolds just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson lands a nice shot to the body.
Frankie Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reynolds throws out the jab. Reynolds shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Reynolds misses with a hook. Jackson is looking to clinch. Reynolds clinches but Jackson breaks the clinch and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Reynolds looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely. Reynolds jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jackson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jackson gets a clinch. Jackson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Reynolds goes for a takedown attempt but Jackson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jackson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Reynolds misses with a combination
letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Jackson. Jackson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Jackson drops Reynolds with a beautiful combination! Reynolds stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jackson is looking for the KO!
Reynolds is rocked! Jackson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Oh Reynolds is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jackson lands with a shot to the body. Jackson drops Reynolds with a huge uppercut! Reynolds drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Jackson is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quinton Jackson!
