Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Zero has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Kane's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Zero!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Kane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zero did well to prevent Kane getting side control.
Zero tries to get to full guard but Kane has control of the leg.

Zero is trying to maintain the position but Kane is very close to passing his half guard.

Kane seems to be looking for submissions.

Zero works his way to full guard. Good work.
Zero is trying to control the position but Kane postures up.
Kane trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Zero is looking to stand up but Kane isn't so interested in that idea.
Kane is pushing down on Zero's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zero is fighting to maintain full guard but Kane has managed to sneak the leg through.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kane lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Zero is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kane perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Zero is not content to let Kane control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zero kicks Kane off and gets back to his feet.
Kane throws a hook but Zero avoids it easily.
Kane misses with a two punch combination.

Kane scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Zero slips a jab and a cross from Kane.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kane!
Nice shot lands for Kane.
Zero tries for a takedown but Kane circles away easily

and Kane counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kane.
Zero looks gassed!
Zero tries to score a body lock takedown but Kane shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zero fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Kane uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kane misses with a series of wild punches.

Kane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zero, pushing him back against the cage.
Kane has Zero pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kane tries to score a body lock takedown but Zero shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Kane. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zero ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zero no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kane actively working from the bottom here.
Kane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kane's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Kane dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zero gets full guard.
Zero wants to control the position but Kane says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kane missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Zero is looking for a sweep. Kane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kane is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zero has managed to free his arm - good work.
Zero trying to hold on to Kane's head to control him but Kane postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zero holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Zero's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kane seems to be working for a kimura but Zero defends the submission attempt.
Zero is trying to maintain the position but Kane is very close to passing his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zero manages to get to full guard.
Kane pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zero is keeping the position for now.
Zero wants to sweep but no luck.
Kane not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Zero is looking to stand up but Kane isn't so interested in that idea.

Kane slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kane prevents Zero from getting back to his feet.
Zero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kane cracks Zero with a solid left hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zero wants to sweep but no luck.
Kane passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kane is working to tighten is grip on Zero's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Zero has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kane is really squeezing tight and eventually Zero passes out! Kane breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Michael Kane!
