Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Beschamps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Clark!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beschamps displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Clark.
Clark shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Beschamps manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Clark won't allow Beschamps to get back to his feet.
Clark is working Beschamps over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Beschamps wants to sweep but no luck.
Clark is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Clark drops back looking for a leg! Beschamps is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beschamps manages to kick Clark off! Clark jumps back into Beschamps's guard.
Clark wants to pass the guard but Beschamps is keeping the position.
Beschamps knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clark on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Clark chips away with some ground and pound.
Beschamps looking for a sweep. Not yet Beschamps, not yet.
Clark landing with the ground and pound.
Beschamps working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Beschamps is breathing heavily.
Beschamps keeping moving, preventing Clark from controlling successfully.
Clark is pushing down on Beschamps's leg trying to pass to half guard. Beschamps is fighting to maintain full guard but Clark has managed to sneak the leg through.
Clark in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Beschamps tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Clark!
