PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Hearst Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan comes into the arena with The Game blaring out of the sound system. Reis has chosen Drop the wolrd as his entrance music. Ivo Reis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hunter Hearst Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivo Reis!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan tries for a takedown but Reis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hogan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hogan.
Hunter Hearst Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reis scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Hunter Hearst Hogan has been cut.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Hogan wants to control the pace but Reis is squirming around nicely.

Hogan goes for an armbar but Reis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Reis.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Reis wants to pass the guard but Hogan is keeping the position.

Reis drops back looking for a leg! Hogan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hogan manages to kick Reis off! Reis jumps back into Hogan's guard.

Hogan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hogan has his foot on Reis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reis works his way back into a safe position though.
Reis wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
Hogan controls Reis momentarily but Reis frees himself.
Hogan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Reis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hogan has a closed guard, preventing Reis from standing up.
Reis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reis tries to stand but Hogan is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hogan keeping full guard, as Reis tries to pass.
Reis postures up.

Hogan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Reis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hogan has tightened it up now! Reis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Hunter Hearst Hogan!
